Pulp and paper systems exhibit non-Newtonian fluid behavior. As such, empirical characteristics are used. AFT Fathom enables engineers to properly model their steady-state systems that convey pulp and paper. can also model waterhammer in pulp and paper systems. Note that between the two available models—Duffy and Brecht & Heller—Duffy is the less conservative model.
