DATACOR FLOW SIMULATION PLATINUM PIPE AWARD
1. Contest Overview
The Datacor Flow Simulation Platinum Pipe Award Contest (the “Contest”) is a skill-based, judged competition sponsored by Datacor, Inc. (“Datacor,” “Sponsor,” “we,” or “us”), located at 200 Campus Drive, Suite 100, Florham Park, New Jersey 07932. The Contest recognizes engineering projects completed using Datacor's Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, or xStream flow simulation software (each, an “Eligible Product”). NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Winners are selected by judged evaluation of submitted materials, not by chance. A purchase, license fee, or fee of any kind does not increase an entrant's chances of winning.
2. Eligibility
To be eligible to enter or receive a prize under the Contest, an entrant must, at the time of entry and at the time of any prize award:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence), and be a current, active licensed user of at least one Eligible Product, or be submitting on behalf of an organization that is a current, active licensee of an Eligible Product;
- Submit a project that was completed using an Eligible Product and for which the entrant/organization has all rights necessary to submit and disclose, as described in Section 8;
- Not be a resident of, or physically located in, any country, region, or territory that is the subject of comprehensive U.S. trade sanctions, or be a person or entity identified on any applicable U.S. government restricted-party list (including OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals list); and
- Not be an employee, officer, director, or contractor of Datacor, its parent, subsidiaries, or affiliates, or an immediate family member (spouse, parent, child, sibling) or household member of such individual.
The Contest is open worldwide except where prohibited or restricted by applicable law, and is VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. It is intended for business and professional use in connection with an entrant's employment or engineering practice, and is not directed to consumers. Entrants are solely responsible for determining whether their participation complies with the laws applicable to them. Datacor may require proof of eligibility (including proof of an active software license) before confirming a winner or awarding a prize, and may disqualify any entrant who does not provide requested proof within the time specified.
3. Contest Period, Categories, and How to Enter
The entry period (“Entry Period”) and submission deadline (“Submission Deadline”) for each Contest cycle will be posted at www.datacor.com/platinum-pipe. For the current 2026 program cycle, entries must be received by October 30, 2026. Datacor reserves the right to adjust the Entry Period or Submission Deadline for any cycle; the version of these Terms and the dates posted on the Contest page at the time of entry will govern that entry.
To enter, an entrant must:
- Select a completed project that used an Eligible Product;
- Prepare a summary of the project that removes client-identifying, proprietary, and confidential details, unless the entrant has obtained all necessary permissions to disclose such details;
- Complete the official entry form; and
- Submit the completed entry to platinumpipe@datacor.com before the Submission Deadline.
Entrants select one of three categories for their submission: Operational Benefits or Sustainability, Most Interesting Model, and Test/Data Correlation (each, a “Category”). An entrant or organization may submit no more than one entry per Category per Contest cycle unless Datacor states otherwise on the Contest page. Incomplete, illegible, corrupted, misdirected, or late entries will be disqualified. Datacor is not responsible for entries lost or not received due to technical or transmission failures.
4. Judging
Winners are selected by a panel of qualified Datacor reviewers (which may include Datacor employees, contractors, and/or external subject-matter judges) based on judging criteria, which may include technical merit, degree of innovation, demonstrated real-world impact, clarity of presentation, and adherence to the entry guidelines for the applicable Category. The same judging criteria are applied consistently to all entries within a Category. Datacor may, in its sole discretion, decline to name a winner in any Category if no entry meets the minimum quality bar for that Category in a given cycle. All judging decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest.
5. Prizes
One winning entrant will be selected per Category, provided that up to two winning entrants may be selected in any Category in the event of multiple superlative entries. Each winner will receive:
- A $1,000 USD software credit (the “Software Credit”) from Datacor, applied to the winning organization's account and redeemable toward the purchase of Eligible Product licenses, maintenance, or professional services from Datacor; and
- One complimentary seat in a single standard Datacor open-enrollment training course, in either virtual or in-person format, as selected by the winner, subject to availability (the “Training Seat,” and together with the Software Credit, the “Prize”).
The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of a full Prize package is $1,000 plus the then-current list price of the training course selected, as published in Datacor's training course catalog at the time of redemption. Actual ARV will vary by course selected.
Prize Restrictions:
- The Prize is not transferable, and may not be sold, assigned, bartered, gifted, or otherwise transferred to any other person or organization. The Software Credit may only be applied to the winning organization's own Datacor account, and the Training Seat may only be used by an individual designated by the winning organization at the time the Prize is claimed.
- The Prize is not redeemable for cash, and no cash or other substitute will be provided in lieu of the Software Credit or Training Seat, in whole or in part, except at Datacor's sole discretion.
- Travel, lodging, meals, ground transportation, and any other incidental expenses associated with attending an in-person Training Seat are not included in the Prize and are solely the responsibility of the winner.
- The Training Seat applies only to Datacor's standard open-enrollment course offerings, subject to seat availability, and does not include private, custom, or on-site training or consulting engagements.
- Datacor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if any advertised Prize element becomes unavailable for reasons beyond Datacor's control.
6. Prize Notification and Time Limit to Claim
Winners will be notified using the contact information provided at entry, generally within two (2) weeks after judging is complete. A winner must respond to accept the Prize within fourteen (14) days of the date of notification (or such other period specified in the notification); a winner who does not respond within that period, cannot be reached after reasonable attempts, or does not satisfy the eligibility or verification requirements of these Terms, may be disqualified, and Datacor may, in its sole discretion, select an alternate winner or decline to award that Prize.
The Software Credit and the Training Seat must each be used within twelve (12) months of the date of the winner's official notification (the “Redemption Period”). Any portion of the Software Credit not applied, and any Training Seat not scheduled and attended, before the end of the Redemption Period will be automatically and permanently forfeited, with no compensation, extension, or substitution of any kind, except at Datacor's sole discretion.
To claim the Prize, the winner must complete any claim documentation, eligibility verification, and applicable tax forms (see Section 7) requested by Datacor within the time specified. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the Prize.
7. Taxes
All federal, state, provincial, local, and other taxes, and any costs or expenses not expressly described as included in the Prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner and/or winning organization. Winners located outside the United States are solely responsible for complying with any tax reporting or payment obligations that apply to them under local law.
8. Submission Rights, Warranties, and Publicity
By submitting an entry, each entrant certifies as follows:
“I am authorized to submit this entry and the information contained in it on behalf of myself and/or my organization, and this submission does not violate any confidentiality, non-disclosure, or similar restriction owed to my employer, any client, or any other third party.”
By submitting an entry, the entrant represents and warrants that: (a) the entrant or the entrant's organization owns, or has obtained, all rights necessary to submit the entry and to grant the license described below; (b) the entrant is authorized to provide the information contained in the entry, and the entry does not include confidential, proprietary, or trade-secret information belonging to the entrant's clients, employer, or any third party, or any information the entrant is not authorized to disclose, unless the entrant has obtained the necessary permission to include it; and (c) the entry does not infringe the intellectual property, publicity, privacy, or other rights of any third party. Datacor may rely on these representations and is not obligated to independently verify an entrant's authorization or confidentiality clearances, but reserves the right to request supporting documentation and to disqualify any entry it reasonably believes was submitted in violation of this Section.
By entering, the entrant grants Datacor a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and publicly display the submitted project summary and related materials, and the entrant's and/or winning organization's name and logo, in connection with the Contest and Datacor's related marketing, including case studies, website content, and press releases, without additional compensation, notice, or further consent, except where prohibited by law. Datacor does not claim ownership of the entrant's underlying project or its intellectual property; the license described here is limited to the materials actually submitted for the Contest and to the promotional purposes described in this Section.
9. General Conditions
- Datacor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, modify, or terminate the Contest or these Terms, in whole or in part, at any time, including if the Contest is affected by fraud, technical failure, or any cause beyond Datacor's reasonable control, subject to applicable law.
- Datacor may disqualify any entrant or entry that it believes, in its sole discretion, violates these Terms, contains false or misleading information, or is otherwise inappropriate.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Datacor and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for, and are not liable for: (i) incorrect or inaccurate entry or contact information, whether caused by entrants or by any equipment or programming; (ii) technical, network, or other failures of any kind; or (iii) any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from participation in the Contest or from the acceptance, receipt, use, or misuse of any Prize.
- By entering, entrants release and agree to hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims or liability arising from the Contest or any Prize awarded, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute arising from the Contest will be resolved exclusively by confidential arbitration located in Florham Park, New Jersey, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between entrants and Datacor regarding the Contest and supersede any prior or contemporaneous understanding on the subject.
10. Privacy
Personal information submitted in connection with the Contest will be used by Datacor to administer the Contest, evaluate entries, notify and fulfill Prizes to winners, and for other purposes described in Datacor's Privacy Policy and as permitted by law.
