TrackAbout Named 2X Finalist in the 2026 gasworld Global Innovation Awards for AI Features

FLORHAM PARK NJ, November 5, 2026 -- Datacor announced that TrackAbout, its asset tracking for inventory management platform, has been named a finalist for two entries at the 2026 gasworld Global Innovation (GWGI) Awards. TrackAbout is shortlisted for the AI Innovation Award and for Digital Innovation & Operations Management. Winners will be announced at the GWGI Awards Ceremony on December 2, 2026, during gasworld's Global Industrial Gas Conference in Budapest, Hungary.

The AI Innovation Award entry, "VisionAI Cylinder Registration: Lowering the Barrier to Asset Tracking," focuses on one of the main obstacles distributors face when they adopt serialized inventory management: registering each cylinder as a unique asset. A single cylinder can carry up to 20 pieces of stamped data on curved steel that is often painted over or worn, which optical character recognition struggles to read. With VisionAI Cylinder Registration, a worker can photograph a cylinder on a smartphone, and the system can capture the stamped markings so a barcode can be applied and the asset registered as one step in existing workflows. Distributors can use it to bring new cylinders, unregistered returns, and acquired cylinder inventory under serialized tracking with the crew they have on site.

The Digital Innovation & Operations Management entry, “AI-Powered Analytics Inside Cylinder Operations,” features TrackAbout Insights. Years of scan data hold most of what an industrial gas business needs to know about its cylinder inventory and working capital, but reaching it has typically meant waiting on reports or analysts. With Insights, anyone in the business can ask a question in plain language and get an answer from live asset data. Operators can see where assets are sitting idle or held past contracted terms, and leaders can make decisions on current conditions.

"I started my career in operations, and I remember registering cylinders by hand, reading stamps through layers of paint with a flashlight. The first time I saw our software read those marks from a photo, I thought about how many hours it would have saved us," said Elizabeth Wallace, VP of Product, TrackAbout, at Datacor.

The shortlisting comes after TrackAbout won the Innovation Award at the WLGA Global Technology Conference during Liquid Gas Week in Istanbul in October. At the 2025 GWGI Awards, its Voice Activated Workflows entry was runner-up in Digital Innovation & Operations Management.

"Leaders know what they need to know to run the business. They shouldn’t have to wait on a data team to find it out, and with Insights, they can ask whenever a decision is in front of them," said Wallace.
