QC/PLUS is now BLISS SQC+. The software, the support team, and your existing data stay the same. The new name reflects what the product does best, statistical quality control, and places it inside the Datacor Laboratory Suite alongside BLISS LIMS, instrument integration, and chemical inventory tracking.

If you already use QC/PLUS, nothing about your daily work changes. If you are evaluating quality control software for a chemical or industrial lab, BLISS SQC+ is the name you will see from here on.

What changed?

The product name and the brand around it. QC/PLUS was developed by Baytek International, which is now part of Datacor. As the BLISS product family moves under the Datacor name, QC/PLUS becomes BLISS SQC+ so the name matches its function.

QC/PLUS always did more than record pass or fail results. It tracks trends, applies control limits, and flags when a process starts to move. The BLISS SQC+ name says that up front, which helps lab managers, IT teams, and search tools understand the product without a demo.

You will see the new name in these places first:

  • The product login screen and application header
  • Release notes, help documentation, and training materials
  • Invoices, renewal notices, and support emails
  • The Datacor website under the BLISS SQC+ product page

What stays the same?

The product's core is unchanged. Current customers keep:

  • Their data: Historical results, control charts, specifications, and audit history carry forward as they are.
  • Their workflows: Sample entry, charting, alerts, and reports work the way your team already uses them.
  • Their support team: The same people answer support requests, through the same channels.
  • Their agreements: Licenses, contracts, and pricing terms stay in place through renewal.

What does BLISS SQC+ do?

BLISS SQC+ is statistical quality control software for labs that test raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. It turns individual test results into trends, so the lab can see when a process is drifting before a batch goes out of specification.

A single reading tells you little. BLISS SQC+ watches the pattern of readings and sounds the alarm when something starts to change.

Core capabilities include:

  • Control charts with configurable control and specification limits
  • Automated alerts when results break statistical rules or trend toward a limit
  • Capability analysis to show how well a process meets its specifications
  • Reports and certificates that support customer and audit requests
  • Multi-lab and multi-site use from a single system

What carries over from QC/PLUS, and what is new

BLISS SQC+ keeps the two built-in capabilities QC/PLUS users rely on, and newer versions add a third.

  • Native instrument integration: Just like QC/PLUS, BLISS SQC+ connects directly to lab instruments. Results land in the right record without anyone retyping the numbers, which removes a common source of transcription errors.
  • Native integrated CAPA: Just like QC/PLUS, corrective and preventive actions live in the same system as the results that triggered them. When a chart flags a problem, the investigation, root cause, and follow-up stay tied to the data.
  • Built-in AI Assistant (newer versions): Ask questions in plain language and get answers from your own lab data. Users can query results, processes, testing methods, sample history, and more without building a report first.

Think of the AI Assistant as a colleague who has read every record your lab has entered and can answer in seconds. A QC manager might ask:

  • "Which samples on Line 2 were out of specification last month?"
  • "What test method was used for this lot?"
  • "Show the sample history for this product over the last 90 days."

Datacor is adding AI to its lab products deliberately, starting with features that answer everyday questions from data the lab already trusts.

How BLISS SQC+ fits the Datacor Laboratory Suite

BLISS SQC+ works on its own, and it works with the rest of the Datacor lab products. Paired with BLISS LIMS, sample results flow into SQC+ charts without re-entry. SQC+ uses Instrument Pro to extend that connectivity across the wider lab. [confirm integration details with SMEs]

A growing lab can start with statistical quality control today and add LIMS, instrument integration, or chemical inventory tracking later without replacing what you already have.

What do current QC/PLUS customers need to do?

Nothing is required. Your system continues to run, and your team can keep working as usual. We recommend three small steps:

  1. Update internal procedures and work instructions that mention "QC/PLUS" by name.
  2. Watch for the release that updates the product name on screen, and share the notes with your users.
  3. Bookmark the new BLISS SQC+ product page and help center for future reference.
